Hi, my name is Robert Nelson. I have been teaching for about 17 years. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Utah Valley University. I hold a valid Utah teaching license. I have taught science in 6th-9th grade, leadership, and student government.
I have four children. My girls are 15 and 13. My boys are 11 and 7. I grew up in American Fork, Utah, and moved to Pleasant Grove after getting married. We then moved to Eagle Mountain and finally, Spanish Fork. My wife is from Florida and is someone you don’t want to mess with, even though she is under 5’3″. We love to work together on things.
My hobbies include woodcrafts, bike riding, coaching track and field, and making my family do all of those things with me.
Something interesting about me is that I am a little obsessed with holidays. I absolutely love to make decorations. During COVID, some people decided that Halloween was too risky to participate in. That was something I could not let happen, but still wanted to be wise. I decided to make a cannon with a long chute that the candy could slide down. We started it upstairs (so we were more than 6 feet apart), and the trick-or-treaters caught it at the end. It was such a hit that we decided to keep it up and pass out candy in a nontraditional way ever since. Below are a few of the things we have done.
